Increasing QRIS Awareness & Participation through Strategic Communications
Since 2012, GEEARS: Georgia Early Education Alliance for Ready Students and its state partners have been leading a statewide public awareness campaign for Georgia’s QRIS, Quality Rated. The most recent phase of the campaign included innovative digital strategies and collaborations that have been independently evaluated. The evaluation finds that the public awareness campaign made substantial progress in (1) increasing public awareness of quality child care for both families and providers through positive messaging, which increased provider participation and influenced parent behavior; (2) helping embed a QRIS in the Georgia statewide early learning system; and (3) becoming an important case study for other states and early learning systems to learn from as they promote their own QRIS efforts. Watch this Let’s Talk where leaders from GEEARS share more information on this campaign’s phases, strategies, outcomes, and lessons learned.
