Decades of research has shown that responsive interaction, known as Serve & Return, is an essential ingredient for healthy development. How might we ensure that all early learning environments are warm, nurturing and engaging? This session of Let’s Talk focuses on Filming Interaction to Nurture Development (FIND), an innovative approach to promoting responsive interactions in the context of early learning. FIND is currently being implemented as part of the Early Achievers quality rating and improvement system in Washington State and an evaluation of the project is being conducted by researchers at the University of Washington. This panel presentation includes an overview of the FIND program, a description of how FIND was adapted and implemented for use in early learning programs, and an update from the evaluation.
