This webinar will share findings from a recent Regional Education Laboratory (REL) Midwest report that  described common and unique approaches across seven states in the Midwest region in adopting, developing, and implementing their quality rating and improvement systems (QRISs). The study examined the ways that Race to the Top–Early Learning Challenge grants shifted the QRIS landscape and how states were influenced by the grant process in developing their QRISs. It also examined how states incorporate observations into their QRISs, use alternate pathways to ratings, and incentivize providers to participate in QRISs. The report provides a knowledge-sharing outlet for states in the REL Midwest Region and beyond that may inform potential QRIS revisions.
