Michele Adams

Michele Adams is a senior technical assistance specialist with NCECQA.  She has 30 years’ experience in child care regulation with the state of Texas.  She held a wide variety of positions including licensing inspector, investigator, manager, policy director and assistant commissioner.  Michele lead the development of minimum standards for Texas child care, authored and delivered training to licensing inspectors, supervisors and child care providers, and was project manager for the development of the weighted enforcement system.  She served on the states’ Early Learning Council, Early Childhood Professional Development System Advisory Council, Texas Rising Star QRIS advisory council, and was recognized as playground safety advocate of the year by the University of Northern Iowa’s National Program for Playground Safety. michele.adams@icfi.com

 

Danielle Fuentes Johnson

Danielle Fuentes Johnson has spent many years providing case management services for Early Intervention programs in California and Virginia, Early Head Start, unaccompanied minors and individuals with intellectual delays. Throughout her career, Danielle has worked closely with parents, Early Childhood Care providers, public school systems, and with professional health care systems, including public and private insurance companies. In addition to the Strengthening Family Child Care Quality Peer Learning Group, Danielle is also currently supporting work around early childhood education and health equity. daniellefuentesjohnson@gmail.com

  

Debi Mathias

Debi Mathias serves as the Director of the QRIS National Learning Network with the BUILD Initiative, a broad cross-section of partners at the state and national level focused on the development and implementation of quality rating and improvement systems (QRIS). Previously, Debi served for 7 years as Director of Early Learning Services, Office of Child Development and Early Learning (OCDEL) in Pennsylvania. Her responsibilities included leadership and support of teams responsible for design, implementation and monitoring of a variety of programs and initiatives including Keystone STARS, Family Support programs, the state Pre-K program, Head Start, the state professional development system, standards aligned systems (learning standards, assessment, curriculum framework etc.), PELICAN data base, program evaluation and research. Debi understands early learning at every level, having served for nearly 30 years as Program Director, SUM Child Development Inc., where she created and managed a multi-site NAEYC Accredited early care and education program serving 800+ children ranging in age from six weeks to 12 years. dmathias@buildinitiative.org
