Group A, Session 3: Understanding Networking and Networking Practices
State teams will explore the application of concepts addressed in the in-person meeting, identify implementation strategies for aligning activities with their community’s early learning system, and discuss approaches for engaging others in discussions and strategic thinking to improve support for family child care providers
We are pleased to welcome Betsy Vassallo, Engagement Coordinator for the Southeast Regional Key at PHMC, and team lead for the Southeastern Pennsylvania Family Child Care (FCC) Network, one of 7 teams participating in the Supporting Continuous Quality Improvement in Family Child Care Peer Learning Group. Betsy will share information about the Escaleras Project, one of a number of current projects supported by the Southeastern Pennsylvania FCC network.
- The Southeastern Pennsylvania FCC Network consists of a diverse group of leaders, coordinators, and staff from the
- Delaware Valley Association for the Education of Young Children,
- Philadelphia Freedom Valley YMCA,
- Philadelphia Infant/Toddler Early Intervention Program,
- Philadelphia Head Start Partnership, and the
- Southeast Regional Key at Public Health Management Corporation.
These partners have joined with the Pennsylvania Office of Child Development and Early Learning (OCDEL) to increase access to high quality early care and education for at risk children and their families.
The network offers professional development, technical assistance, and mentoring to support program quality improvement for culturally, linguistically, and ability diverse FCC providers in Southeastern Pennsylvania. This cross-agency collaborative effort provides assistance to home based providers in meeting licensing health and safety requirements and supports FCC quality improvement through participation in Keystone STARS, Pennsylvania’s QRIS.
Please review with your teams Juliet Bromer’s survey and the tools presented at the In-Person meeting.
