2018 QRIS National Meeting

346. Building the Pipeline of Early Childhood Advocates

Date: Wednesday July 18, 2018
Time: 8:30 AM - 10:30 AM
Location: Nautilus 2

The University of Maryland College Park has launched a multi-faceted program that focuses on a goal of increasing the cadre of people who are able to advocate for low-income, children, youth, and families whether they work directly with or in systems that support children and families, or as college students. The initiative is also focusing on increasing the racial and ethnic diversity of those who are engaged in policy advocacy. Explore in this session how to advance similar efforts in your own state or community with higher education partners and to consider together what resources are needed for more advocacy teaching.
